2078. Mystic, Conn.
HARRIET ELIZA HART, eldest daughter of Rev. Ira Hart, of Middlebury and Stonington, Conn., and his wife, Maria, daughter of John Sherman, born March 12th, 1803; married December 31st, 1823, Benjamin F. Palmer, of Mystic, Conn. She died, December, 1842, aged 39 years, leaving six children. Her son, Franklin, succeeds his uncle, David S. Hart, M. D., in business. Her youngest child was born five days before her death. THEODORE EPHRAIM HART, Canandaigua, N. Y., second son of Jonathan Hart, of Kirkland, Ontario County, N. Y., and his wife, Orphia (Chapin), of Springfield, Mass., born December 22d, 1802; married January 11th, 1826, Eliza Collins: He was a merchant in Canandaigua fourteen years, and a banker ten years. He retired from business wealthy in 1873, and says he is waiting to join his children, who are all dead but one. THEIR CHILDREN, BEING THE EIGHTH GENERATION.
2660. Samuel Collins, born May 20th, 1828; married , Catharine M. Buell. JONATHAN WALTER HART, fourth son of Jonathan Hart, of Kirkland, Oneida County, N. Y., and his wife, Orphia (Chapin), born in 1807. It is related of him that about 1830 he left Harford, Cortland County, in search of a home in some western state. Nothing was heard from him until his return in 1835. He then said he was unmarried, was living in Missouri, had been unfortunate and lost all by the sinking of a boat in the Mississippi River, caused by striking a snag, and he wished for some pecuniary aid. He only staid a few days and left, since which time nothing definite has been heard of him. ALONZO ORVILLE HART, Caroline, Tompkins County, N. Y., eldest son of Josiah Hart, of Paris, N. Y., and his wife, Sophronia (Gridley), born February 1st, 1806, at Paris, Oneida County, N. Y.; married at ![]() ![]() ![]() |
