Obituary Notice from a Daily Paper.

“Theodore Henry Hart was born in Harford, Cortland County, N. Y., January 26th, 1831; died in Philadelphia, Penn., April 12th, 1861. While a junior in college Mr. Hart made a public profession of religion, and united with the Congregational Church of Canandaigua, N. Y. In the fall of 1853 he entered the Union Theological Seminary, but was compelled, by loss of health, to leave for a warmer climate. This breaking up of his cherished plans he reconciled himself to by helping a number of young men in preparing for the ministry. He engaged in active business in Philadelphia, and was very successful. In 1857 he visited Europe, and sent home sketches of travel, that were published in the Northern Independent. They reveal a genial nature, with the nice tastes of the scholar, and such pleasant power of expression, that they deserve to be preserved in a more permanent form. Mr. Hart’s life was short, but was filled up with acts of usefulness and charitable beneficence, and was rich with tokens, that it answered life’s great end. He leaves a wife and one son, who bears his name.”
