rich), born May 17th, 1750, at Kensington; married November 5th, 1772, Huldah, daughter of Jedediah Smith, and his wife, Susannah (Cogswell), born January 4th, 1749. He built in Hart Quarter, New Britain, next north of his father’s, the same house since owned and occupied by Edwin Francis and others, which house and farm he sold to Oliver Gridley, and removed to New Durham, N. Y., about 1804, and from thence to Seneca, Ontario County, N. Y., about 1814, where he died            . He was chosen deacon, probably at New Durham, now called Windham Center.

ELIZUR HART, New Britain, Conn., seventh son of Deacon Elijah Hart, of Kensington and New Britain, and his wife, Abigail (Goodrich), born December 25th, 1752, at Kensington; married January 1st, 1778, Sarah, daughter of Captain John Langdon, of New Britain, and his wife, Mercy (Eno), born December 9th, 1756. He was a noted school teacher, having taught seventeen seasons. He was called Landlord Hart, from having kept a tavern in Hart Quarter. In 1873 the house was in good condition, and called the State House, wherein was a famous dancing hall. In 1794 Mr. Hart went to the West Indies for his health, and died of yellow fever, at Kingston, Jamaica, in 1794, aged 42 years, when his widow married second, Seth Wadsworth, of Farmington. She died at Farmington, June 14th, 1822, aged 65.
