Noah Gridley, of Southington, and his wife, Luanna (Andrews). She was admitted to the Congregational Church in Southington, by letter from New Britain, December 5th, 1819. He was admitted on profession, December 1st, 1833, but afterwards joined the Unitarians. His avocation was farming. He died October 3d, 1852, aged 55 years. She was living in Southington with her children in 1873. JOSEPH HART, New Britain, eldest son of Joseph Hart, of New Britain, Conn., and New Durham, N. Y., and his wife, Huldah (Smith), born November 20th, 1773, at New Britain, Conn.; married May 3d, 1798, Lucy (Kirkland), of Saybrook, born November 11th, 1778, at Saybrook. Soon after marriage he removed to Durham, Green County, N. Y., where they lived a few years. He then went to Seneca, Ontario County, N. Y., bought a quarter section of land of the Holland Land Company, then a dense forest, cut some trees, rolled together a few logs for a cabin, and in 1812 he moved into it with his wife, four sons, and an infant daughter; and thus began a settlement, which was known in 1873 as Albion, Orleans County, N. Y. His house was the missionary’s home, his barn the meeting-house, and he was an elder of the Presbyterian Church. He died July 22d, 1853, aged 80 years. His widow died at Adrian, Mich., where she had gone to be with her daughter, Mrs. Berry, January 4th, 1867, aged 88 years. THEIR CHILDREN, BEING THE SEVENTH GENERATION.
