and his wife, Mercy (Eno), born October 7th, 1792, at New Britain; married in New York, 1810, Sylvester, youngest child of Abel Clark, of New Britain, and his wife, Abigail (Judd), born February 18th, 1789. They lived in Hartford, Conn., where he died, and she survived him many years.

ELIZA HART, New Britain, second daughter of Asahel, and his second wife, Sarah Hart, daughter of Judah Hart, Jr., born October 10th, 1799, at New Britain; married there April 18th, 1824, Ralph Pearl, son of Frederic, of Southington. He went to Southington with his brother, Orrin, from the east part of the state, about 1820. In 1825 he had part of his hand shot off by the accidental discharge of a pistol in the hands of a cavalry officer. They lived in the west part of the town, where he died, January 14th, 1855, aged 62 years. The record says he died of intemperance. They had an infant die of fever, April 15th, 1826, aged 3 months.

AMZI WOODRUFF HART, New Britain, second son of Asahel, and his second wife, Sarah, daughter of Judah Hart, Jr., and his wife, Sarah (North), born November 3d, 1801, in New Britain. He was never married. He was a cooper by trade, which he learned of Major Selah Hart, and died at his house, of spotted fever, August 10th, 1823, aged 22 years. He was a young man of good habits and much promise.

LYDIA HART, eldest daughter of James, of New Britain, and his wife, Sylvia, daughter of Nathaniel Pennfield, born May 13th, 1796, at New Britain; married November 25th, 1818, John C. Root, son of Ezekiel, of Farmington, and his wife, Cynthia (Cole), of Kensington. He was a shoe-maker by trade and avocation, and removed to Ohio, where he died, December 10th, 1862, aged 67. She was living, not long since, at Tallmadge, Summit County, Ohio.
