Smith, of Southington. She died March 20th, 1834, aged 34. Mr. Hart was a carpenter and joiner, and died at sea, while on his passage south in pursuit of work, May, 1834, aged 35 years. They left one child.

CLARISSA HART, second daughter of James, of New Britain, and his wife, Sylvia, daughter of Nathaniel Pennfield, born February 22d, 1803, at New Britain; baptized there June 12th, 1803; married, June, 1822, Enos Beckwith. They went to Martinsburg, Knox County, Ohio, where she died, August 26th, 1831, aged 28 years.

MARY HART, fourth daughter of James Hart, of New Britain, and his wife, Sylvia (Pennfield), born, January, 1810, at New Britain. She went to Ohio in 1827, and married there, May 18th, 1829, George W. McLaughlin, a merchant of Martinsburg. They removed to St. Mary's, Ohio, in 1837, where their first son was born. They had—1, Almira, born December 1st, 1830; 2, Amanda, born August 31st, 1832, died June 26th, 1834; 3, Eliza, born November 8th, 1834; 4, Sarah, born May 24th, 1837; 5, William, born January 20th, 1841, died December 30th, 1849, of small pox; 6, Mary Ellen, born August 1st, 1843; 7, George Cannon, born April 18th, 1846; 8, Martha Antoinette, born February 26th, 1849, died August 3d, 1850; 9, John Charles, born September 22d, 1851.

STEPHEN HART, New Lebanon, St. Clair County, Ill., eldest son of Joel, and his wife, Lydia (North), of Berlin, born April 12th, 1801; married, July, 1831, Eliza Buck, of Marietta, Ohio, born January 5th, 1805. He is a farmer in Madison County, Ill., about twenty-five miles from St. Louis. Their children were all born in Illinois, but at different localities.
