The Bible said to have been Joseph Hart's, printed at London in 1585, was given by his wife, Elizabeth, to her daughter, Rhoda Thompson, and was exchanged for a common, large, family Bible, with the Historical Society at Hartford, where it may be seen—"when found." 813. Huldah, born September 29th, 1760; married February 18th, 1784, Joel Marshall, of Granville. AMBROSE HART, Avon, fourth son of Joseph Hart, of the same place, and his wife, Mary (Bird), born August 25th, 1732, at Avon; married March 20th, 1755, Martha Fuller, of Simsbury. He was admitted to Avon Church, March 7th, 1756. The Will of Ambrose Hart was proved in probate court, at Farmington, July 6th, 1799, and Gad and Martha Hart made administrators of the Will annexed.
Item.—I give my son, Gad. Item.—I give my daughter, Sabra Whiting. Item.—I give my daughter, Diadama Cadwell. Item.—I give my granddaughter, Huldah Brace. Item.—And I constitute my son-in-law, Lot Woodruff, my sole Executor. (Signed,) Ambrose Hart, and seal.
The Inventory, £671 18s., taken by Samuel Bishop, He died June 23d, 1799, in his 67th year. She died September 26th, 1806, in her 77th year, so says their tomb-stones in the old cemetery east of the river, near the First Church in Avon, Conn. |
