AMANDA HART, Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio, third daughter of Bliss Hart, of Burlington, Conn., and Brook- field, Ohio, and his wife, Sylvia (Upson), born March 13th, 1797, at Burlington, Conn. She went to Brookfield, Ohio, with her parents, and there married, January 28th, 1824, Garry C. Reed, Esq., of Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio, where she died, October 5th, 1865. They had children, viz: Cynthia, married S. S. Briggs, M. D., who was a surgeon in the Union Army, and died; Achsah, married Dr. Hurst; Alvin Hart, married Marion Ballard; and Philo Elsworth, who was a lawyer, entered the Union Army as captain, was acting as colonel, when he was shot and instantly killed at the head of his regiment, while storming a fort. He married November 22d, 1855, Minerva Drake, who survived him at Warren, Ohio, in 1871.

OLIVER ELSWORTH HART, Brookfield, Ohio, fifth son of Bliss Hart, of Burlington, Conn., and Brookfield, Ohio, and his wife, Sylvia (Upson), born May 20th, 1799, at Burlington; married, May, 1834, Susanna White Danforth, daughter of Samuel, of Palmyra, N. Y. He died at Brookfield, April 7th, 1846, aged 47.
