Wethersfield, Conn., who was a physician of eminence at Kensington. She died there Nov. 30th, 1792, aged 62 years. He also died there, Nov. 14th, 1793, aged 66 years. They had issue, 1, Joseph, born Nov. 12th, 1754, married, Dec. 31st, 1783, Ruth Allen; 2, Mary, born July 16th, 1759; 3, Sylvester, born May 20th, 1762, was a physician in Hartford; 4, Rhoda, born April 17th, 1764; 5, Nancy, baptized Aug. 30th, 1767; 6, James, baptized April 15th, 1770.

Kensington and New Britain, Conn.

HULDAH HART, Kensington, third daughter of Lieut. Samuel Hart, of Kensington, (then a parish of Farmington,) and his wife, Mary (Hooker), born Nov. 2d, 1731, in Kensington, married             , Gideon Porter, of Kensington and New Britain; she died, when he married, second, Dec. 24th, 1778, widow Hannah Heth, widow of Avery. Mr. Porter is said to have lived at Northington, Conn., but he also lived and died in New Britain, Conn., at the house of Simeon Lincoln, Mar. 23d, 1805, aged 84 years. They had issue, viz: 1, Gideon, born         , married          , Hannah Brooks; 2, Huldah, born           , married, April 1st, 1773, John Riley, of Northampton, Mass., where he died; she married second, Simeon Lincoln, of New Britain, Conn.; 3, Abel, born,         , baptized Oct. 2d, 1757, at Kensington, married Elizabeth, daughter of Solomon Dunham, Esq., who died May 10th, 1783, when he married second, Hannah Elliot; 4, Levi Goodwin, born         , baptized Aug. 3d, 1760, at Kensington; 5, James, born          , baptized April 18th, 1771, at Kensington.

CAPT. SAMUEL HART, Kensington, youngest son and child of Lieut. Samuel Hart, of same place, and his wife, Mary (Hooker), born Jan. 21st, 1738, in Kensington, married, Oct. 10th, 1757, Rebecca, daughter of Charles Norton, and his wife, Rebecca (Munson), born May 11th, 1739, died July 28th, 1769, in her 31st year, when he married, second, Oct. 4th, 1770, Lydia, daughter of Capt. John Hinsdale, and his wife, Elizabeth (Cole), born Aug. 11th, 1747. He held the military rank of captain, and lived on Hart street, next west of Main street, in Berlin. Soon after the formation of Worthington Church, in 1775, he became a Universalist in his religious views, and his descendants have adopted more or less the same sentiments. He was a great thinker, but could not speak in public without having his ideas written. He was the first Clerk and Treasurer of the Congregational Church at Berlin, in 1775.
