About Me / Personal
I'm an independent business systems analyst in the Boston area, working for the last 20 years in financial services. I was lucky to discover software in school - I liked staying up all night in the Computer Center. Graduate school introduced me to compilers and languages, and becoming co-founder of a software startup brought me closer to the business and marketing side. Years ago I joined an early eCommerce project at Fidelity Investments and helped define and build advanced products there. My consulting work since then has been in brokerage and funds systems, most recently in portfolio accounting.

I'm originally from South Carolina, married to Stephanie, my Southern Sweetheart. After graduate school at Georgia Tech, we moved to New England for a job and stayed. (My father said we'd be back South after the first full winter, but we really like it here.) Our kids think of the South as that hot place with the great beaches and all the cousins.
Speaking of kids, ours grew up very nicely, thanks to Stephanie. They are incredibly active and did all sorts of things we didn't do growing up. Do all parents think this about their children?
Much of my non-work time is spent riding my bicycle, practicing yoga, listening to music at Riverwalk Cafe, and enjoying good craft beer and food prepared by people who care.

The kids were home, so we could take this picture with no need to Photoshop someone in. Not that we've done that before.
