He practiced medicine in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, until 1861, when he entered the army as surgeon in the Forty-First Regiment Ohio Volunteers, where he served three years, and resumed his practice in Cleveland, Ohio, where he has since remained. He and his wife were formerly members of the Free Presbyterian Church. Before the war this church seceded from the old Presbyterian Church, on account of slavery. They and all their children are members of the Congregational Church. He settled at Clarksville, Penn.

Stiles, born July 5th, 1832, in Cleveland, Ohio, who died in 1858, at St. Louis. Mr. Hart is a traveling agent, and resides in Philadelphia in 1874.
