MELINTHA HART, Avon, Conn., second daughter of Obed Hart, of Northington, and his second wife, Charlotte (Dorman), born April 9th, 1814, at West Avon; married October 8th, 1835, at Sherman, Chautauqua County, N. Y., by Rev. J. Wilson, Aretas Skinner, born October 22d, 1804, at Norwich, Chenango County, N. Y. They resided at Sherman, Chautauqua County, N. Y., where he is a farmer, and where all their children were born. She was admitted to the Congregational Church at Avon, November 6th, 1831. They had—1, Adaline, born September 12th, 1836, died April 6th, 1863; 2, Emily, born June 8th, 1838, married April 15th, 1861, J. F. Cushing; 3, Otis L., born January 26th, 1841; 4, George H., born March 4th, 1844, married December 23d, 1869, Sylvia Eades; 5, Henrietta, born November 28th, 1847, died February 8th, 1848.

SETH HART, New York, eighth son of Obed Hart, of Northington, Conn., and his second wife, Charlotte (Dorman), born April 10th, 1816, at Avon; married           , Matilda Miller, a milliner of New York City. He has lived at Macon, Ga., but in 1871 he lived at No. 109 East Eleventh Street, New York.

JULIA HART, eldest daughter of Orrin Hart, of the same town, and his wife, Sally, daughter of Jedediah Gladden, and his wife, Elizabeth (Page), born           , 1804, at Farmington; married October 12th, 1823, Edwin Sweet, of Farmington. They lived on the mountain, above Dr. Cowles’ distillery, known as the Sweet place, for many years.

[ Julia Hart and Edwin Sweet had the following children: 1. Jane born 1825 in Farmington CT,married Sylvester Williams of Camden, NY; 2. Julia, born            in Farmington CT; 3. Emily born 1827 in Camden NY, married 1844, Nicholas Drury, died 1912 in Rome NY; 4. George born 1832 in Camden NY; 5. Chauncey born 1834 in Camden NY; 6. Mary born 1836 in Camden NY, married Andrew Yeomans in Forestport NY, died in Forestport NY; 7. Frances born 1839 in Camden NY, married John Little in Camden, NY; 8. Horace born 1842 in Camden NY; 9. Sarah born 1845 in Camden NY, married Lorenzo West in Forestport NY, died in Forestport NY.

Edwin Sweet died between 1856 and 1860 in Camden N.Y. and he was buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Camden NY.

The following is copied from the Boonville NY paper of Tuesday June 1 1897

"On Tuesday June 1 1897 at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. J. Yeomans occurred the death of Mrs. Julia A. Sweet in the 93rd year of her age. Mrs. Sweet had been a sufferer for several years. Internment was held in Christ Church Cemetery, Forestport, NY on Thursday June 3, 1897. She is survived by the following children; Mrs. Jane Williams of Camden, N.Y., Mrs. Emily Drury of Herkimer, N.y., Mrs. Mary Yeomans of Forstport, N.Y. Mrs. Frances Little of West Camden, N.Y., Horace W. Sweet of Detroit, Michigan."
