[ In "Ancestors and Descendants of certain branches of the HART, COLE, SWIFT, and COOLEY FAMILIES of STANWOOD, CEDAR COUNTY, IOWA" by Kenneth Greg Hart, Ken Hart supplies the following information about Seth Hart and his family.

Anna Miller was Seth Hart's first cousin. They were both grandchildren of Ebenezer Miller and his wife Hannah (Burt). Anna Miller was born January 31, 1761. Their marriage was recorded as having taken place in the Congregational Church in Avon.

Seth Hart owned land in Barkhamstead, Conn. that was seized on November 25, 1788 to repay a debt of £15, which he and David Bristol of Farmington had borrowed from Prudence Porter of Farmington. The court document describing the seizure states: "By virtue of the original of which this is a true copy and by direction of the sheriff, this day attached one certain piece or parcel of land supposed to be the property of Seth Hart, one of the within named defaulters, situated in said Farmington the west side of the river in Nod division containing about fifteen acres with a house and barn thereon fronting and butted and bounded as follows (viz) east and west on highway south on land of said Seth Hart and north on land of Noah Hart, deceased."

Records of the first five children are included in the records of the West Avon Congregatinal Church. The church records and two other sources show that the first child was a boy named Ithiel and not a girl named Ethel. This error is similar to a few others in the book. It is probably due to the fact the all this information was collected by letter written to Alfred Andrews. Some of the handwriting was probably difficult to read and a few names and dates were misinterpreted. A book was written about Ithiel Hart and his descendants, "Genealogy of the Hart Family Which Descended from Ithiel D. Hart, Sr.," published July 19, 1930, by Franklin M. Hart. ]
