The David Hardy Memorial Lecture Series Presents:

Roger Swain

A New Model for Gardening

Thursday, January 15, 2009 – 7:00 PM
St. Lawrence Church, 51 Main Street, Goffstown

Co-Sponsored by the Goffstown Garden Club

Roger Swain, aka "the man with the red suspenders," is best known for hosting The Victory Garden on PBS for 15 years. Currently he co-hosts People, Places, and Plants on HGTV at 7:00 AM on Sunday.

When he is not filming, writing, or meeting with gardeners across the country, Roger can be found working the orchard and gardens of his farm in Greenfield.  Roger will reveal practical tips for how low tech, intensive gardening can provide a remarkable yield with a modicum of effort, regardless of plot size.  Even a novice gardener can reduce their carbon footprint with a productive garden.  Who needs garlic trucked in from California?

Roger’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer period and a booksigning sponsored by the Toadstool Bookshop.  25% of the proceeds from all book sales will benefit PLC.

Suggested Donation: $5.00 per person to benefit PLC

Light refreshments will be served.
