CAROLINE ELIZABETH HART, eldest daughter of Selah Hart, of New Britain, Conn., and subsequently of Philadelphia, Penn., and his wife, Sarah (North), born January 21st, 1832, in New Britain; married in Philadelphia, July 14th, 1852, S. B. Pratt, of Boston, Mass., by his father, Rev. Parsons Pratt, of New York. Their child, Willys Herbert, born, February, 1854, died March 3d, 1860. Mrs. Pratt died March 4th, 1859, in Charlestown, Mass., aged 27 years. They were both buried in Mount Auburn. The following obituary notice is from a newspaper:

“Mrs. Carrie E. Pratt, daughter of Selah Hart, Esq., formerly of New Britain, Conn., died in Charlestown, Mass., on Thursday, March 3d, 1860. In her decease not only her husband and parents and immediate relatives have sustained a great loss, but a far wider circle, to whom she was greatly endeared by her Christian graces, refinement, and labors of love. She had charge of the infant department in the Sunday School of which her husband was superintendent, and we learn that the services of the Sabbath preceding her death were virtually a united prayer meeting for her recovery. The afflicted parents will have the sincerest sympathy of all who knew them here in this second bereavement.”

An obituary notice of her child, Willys Herbert, a very extraordinary lovely child, mentioned above, was published in the Sunday School World of the period, occupying one and a half columns of the paper too lengthy for our space.

KATHARINE HARRIET HART, Philadelphia, Penn., youngest daughter of Selah Hart, of New Britain, Conn., and subsequently of Philadelphia, Penn., and his wife, Sarah (North), born June 3d, 1840, in New Britain; married December 2d, 1864, William R. Buck, of Philadelphia, Penn.
