2545.                                  Canton, Ill.

LOUISA HART, Canton, Ill., sixth daughter and tenth child of Deacon Henry Hart, of Goshen, Conn., and his wife, Ann Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel D. Street, born March 8th, 1825, at Goshen, Conn.; married April 10th, 1845, Joel W. Dewey, a farmer, of Canton, Ill. He and his wife and the two eldest daughters are members of the Congregational Church. He died of heart disease, August 2d, 1870. Their children were—1, Mary Loranie, born January 15th, 1846; 2, Frederick O., born June 8th, 1848; 3, Edward Hart, born October 3d, 1850; 4, Charles Carol, born September 3d, 1852; 5, Catharine Louise, born July 31st, 1856; 6, Ellen Frances, born July 26th, 1863.

EDWARD HART, Elmwood, Ill., fifth son of Deacon Henry Hart, and his wife, Ann Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel D. Street, of Goshen, Conn., where he was born, February 7th, 1827; married May 6th, 1857, Lucy Boardman, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Robbins, born July 18th, 1835, at Bristol. They were admitted to the Congregational Church at Elmwood in 1863.

[ He was a cabinetmaker and a farmer. He died August 2d, 1913. This picture of Edward and Lucy and information on some of the descendants of Edward Hart was supplied by David P. Hart. ]

2547.                           New Kirtland, Ill.

DAVID HART, New Kirtland, Ill., youngest son of Deacon Henry Hart, of Goshen, Conn., and subsequently of Farmington, Ill., and his wife, Ann Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel D. Street, of Goshen, Conn., where he was born about 1828; married in 1852, Dorcas Heacock, of Canada, who died, October, 1861. He enlisted, September, 1861, in Company I, Forty-Seventh Regiment Illinois Volunteers, as second sergeant, but was soon promoted to orderly, and served three years. He was at the fight of Island No. 1, at the siege of Corinth, subsequently at the siege of Vicksburg, at the fight of Jackson, and other places. He was promoted to be first lieutenant in a colored regiment, and detailed as sub-commissioner of freedmen, and was honorably discharged, March, 1866, when he went to California, and has not been heard from by his friends since.
