MARY ANN HART, Watertown, Washington County, Ohio, eldest daughter of Deacon Benjamin Hart, of New Britain, Conn., and Watertown, Ohio, and his first wife, Honor (Deming), born May 24th, 1813, at Watertown, Ohio; married September 25th, 1833, Joseph Hayward, of Watertown, Ohio, born January 10th, 1808. They reside at Waterford, Ohio. They had—1, Charles Austin, born February 12th, 1835, married March 24th, 1870, Nettie Hawley; 2, Lucy Minerva, born May 23d, 1837, died September 28th, 1838; 3, Mary Sophia, born December 13th, 1839, married June 16th, 1869, Douglas P. Leonard; 4, Newell Deming, born February 18th, 1842, married May 24th, 1865, Eliza Bartlett, died September 9th, 1865; 5, Josephine Ann, born April 13th, 1844, and was living with his parents at Waterford in 1874; 6, Arthur Winchester, born June 16th, 1846, and is in a china store at South Bend, Ind.; 7, Emma Hart, born August 10th, 1851, and was living with her parents in 1874.

LUCY WOLCOTT HART, Burlington, Iowa, second daughter of Deacon Benjamin Hart, of New Britain, Conn., and Watertown, Ohio, and his first wife, Honor (Deming), born December 2d, 1815; at Watertown, Ohio; married October 12th, 1836, Rev. Samuel Payne, born July 21st, 1806. They located at Burlington, Iowa, where he died, January 8th, 1845. They had—1, Sarah, born August 6th, 1838, died December 14th, 1839; 2, Dorcas, born December 24th, 1839, died August 16th, 1844; 3, Sarah Clark, born November 16th, 1841, married July 11th, 1861, William Triggs, who died in the army, when second she married Josiah Fisher; 4, Rebecca, born March 21st, 1844, married Samuel Brunt. Mrs. Payne second married April 1st, 1847, Jonathan Grout, born June 13th, 1811, and died at Lancaster, Iowa, December 2d, 1866. They had one child, Catharine Florence, born August 14th, 1858, and died in infancy.
