COLONEL FRANCIS HART, New Britain, eldest son of Captain Aaron, of the same place, and his wife, Sarah (Francis), born December 18th, 1791, at Hart Quarter, in New Britain; married December 30th, 1812, Dolly Stanley, daughter of Lot, (son of Thomas third,) and his wife, Rhoda (Wadsworth), of Farmington, born February 15th, 1794, at New Britain. He was a tanner and shoe-maker by trade, which he learned of Treadway, of Torringford. He located in Hart Quarter. His house, near Shuttle Meadow Road, was formerly owned and occupied by Asahel Hart. He was often engaged in public affairs as a civil officer, and also held the military rank of colonel. She united with the Congregational Church, January 6th, 1811. He united, August 4th, 1811. He was a constituent member of the South Church in 1842. He died June 27th, 1845, aged 54 years, and left no children. She second married October 22d, 1860, Solomon B. Gridley, of Southington, and was his second wife. He was son of Joel Gridley, and his wife, Amanda (Woodruff), born July 14th, 1805. She was a most worthy woman, and died April 26th, 1868, aged 74 years, 2 months, and 11 days.

CHESTER HART, second son of Captain Aaron, of New Britain, and his wife, Sarah (Francis), of Newington, born February 7th, 1793; married September 19th, 1821, Hannah, daughter of Levi Wells, of New Britain, and his wife, Hannah (Wells), born, August, 1797, and died September 1st, 1823, aged 26 years, when he second married May 12th, 1824, Elva Wells, sister of his first wife, born September 11th, 1800, at New Britain, and was baptized there by Rev. William Robinson, of Southington. She is a good woman and scholar. She had a
