who lived in Southington for a time, but removed to Plainville, where he kept a hotel and livery stable. He was found drowned near Belle Dock, New Haven, October 15th, 1869, aged 62 years. It is supposed he was robbed, and then thrown into the water. They had one son and three daughters. His widow is living at Plainville in 1874.

ELUZIA HART, Southington, eldest daughter of Levi Hart, of the same town, and his wife, Polly (Newell), born August 17th, 1810, at Southington; married September 2d, 1830, Henry Carter, of Southington, son of John, and his wife, Esther (Tinker), of New London. His avocation was farming, and they lived on West Street, where she died, October 2d, 1831, aged 21. He died October 17th, 1831, aged 25 years. They left one child, Eluzia Hart, born June 22d, 1831; married October 20th, 1859, Reeve L. Knight, of Philadelphia.

LEVI HART, Southington, Conn., only son of Levi Hart, of the same town, and his wife, Polly (Newell), born November 16th, 1815, at Southington. He was never married. He lived on the old homestead of his father in the village, on the corner of Main and West Streets. He died October 26th, 1871, aged 56 years. It is stated that he engaged his coffin some years before he died, and kept it in readiness; also a suit of clothes for his body, at an expense of $100. He also named the clergyman to attend his funeral, and directed that he be paid a certain sum for his services.

MARY ANN HART, Southington, second daughter of Levi Hart, of the same town, and his wife, Polly (Newell), born May 21st, 1813, at Southington; married April 27th, 1838, Henry Ensign Butler, of West Hartford, son of James, of the same place. His avocation was teaching and farming. He died July 10th, 1839, in his 28th year. She was living in 1871, on the old homestead of her father, at Southington. No children.
