He lived with his wife nearly seventy-two years, when they celebrated their diamond wedding. They had twelve children, fifty-seven grandchildren, and fifty-six great-grandchildren—125 in all. 2, Lucy Whitney, born                 , 1778, at Simsbury, married Jonathan Battles; 3, Thaddeus Whitney, born at Simsbury, December 18th, 1781, married Polly Pratt, and married second, —— Messenger.

ABIGAIL HART, Farmington, fifth daughter of Samuel Hart, of Avon, and his wife, Elizabeth (Thompson), born February 20th, 1743; married February 10th, 1763, Josiah Woodruff, of Northington. They had—Shubel, born September 25th, 1763; Uriah, born March 16th, 1766; and probably others.

ANTHONY HART, Avon, second son of Samuel Hart, of that place, and his wife, Elizabeth (Thompson), born January 25th, 1750-1; married August 14th, 1776, Eleanor Rowe, of Simsbury. He died August 21st, 1816, aged 66 years, when she second married in 1817, John Hubbard, of Bloomfield.
