VELINA HART,
Southington, eldest son of Noadiah Hart, of Kensington, and his wife, Lucy
(Hurlburt), daughter of Stephen, was born May 5th, 1761. He married, at
Southington, before Rev. Wm. Robinson, then pastor of that church, Dec.
3d, 1782, Huldah Green. He was by occupation a miller, and run what was
subsequently called Carter's Mill; he lived in a small house near the mill,
both of which have long since disappeared, and the place is now covered
by Plant's Pond. Huldah, his wife, died of fever July 29th, 1807, aged
53 years, when he, second, married Hannah Clark, who was received to the
church in Southington, by letter from Burlington church, Oct. 2d, 1808.
He died of gout in Southington, April 12th, 1812, in his 51st year, and
a tombstone tells where he lies in Plantsville cemetery. His widow Hannah
was dismissed by a letter to Geneva, Ashtabula Co., Ohio, Aug. 26th, 1827. [ There is a record of a Velina Hart, who enrolled as a private to fight in the Revolutionary War. This Velina Hart is the only person with that name who lived at the right time to fight in that war. More research is necessary, however, to verify that this Velina Hart did, indeed, fight in the Revolutionary War. ] THEIR CHILDREN, BEING THE SEVENTH GENERATION. 245. Huldah, born ,
