Mushroom Newsletter Sites

The Central New York Mycological Society

Here is where you'll find The Fungal Gazette hosted by Roy Reehil (the Mayor of Cleveland, New York) & Pat Cerro-Reehil that was put online Valentines Day 1996. This is a very informative newsletter with lots of interesting information. The feature story this month is an article about Amanita phalloides poisonings both in Rochester, New York and on the west coast. Check this site often for future newsletters. the Puffball

Five back issues of the Puffball newsletter, the newsletter of the Willamette Valley Mushroom Society (Salem, Oregon USA). Take a HyperText journey around the globe. This site is still under construction at this point. The first issue is the most complete with HyperText links on many of the important words. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

MycoInfo

MycoInfo is now available as a web page! The link above will now take you directly to his new web page. The following is the link to see the original gopher site. This is an extremely impressive mycological newsletter by Brian McNett that has been online for some time now (1993-- a real old-timer to the world of the Net!). In addition to the most recent issue, there are several years of back issues here. You definitely need to visit this site. You can request the receipt of MycoInfo directly by eMailing Brian at bmcnett@linknet.kitsap.lib.wa.us. Added: 10/1/95; Last verified: 5/18/96

Mushroomer

In addition to being the home page of Igor Malcevski, this is also home of the newsletter of the Snohomish County Mycological Society, the Mushroomer. He has several issues on line. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

Colorado Mycological Society Newsletter

This site contains the text of the actual newsletter. There are several years of back issues here (I think it's several years, as it's been awhile since my last visit). I haven't had the time yet to peruse the issues but look forward to doing so when the cold dark days of winter fall upon the northeastern United States. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

The Spore Print

Here is where you will find the online issues of the offical (accept no substitutes) newsletter of the Los Angeles Mycological Society. I need to revist this site soon and will write some additional details about this site when I have them. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

FUNGUS

FUNGUS is a weekly online newsletter edited by Ralph Arnolds primarily focused on the cultivation of them Savory Wild Mushrooms. Ralph is from my old stomping grounds in Oregon. I need to revist this site soon and will write some additional details about this site when I have them. Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96

mycoElectronica

Don't bother checking here yet because the first issue isn't out yet (the lazy editor -- me -- is apparently finding other things much more important). OK, how about some more self promotion. mycoElectronica will be a Mushroom Zine that will be published on a "periodic" basis. The first issue is expected sometime in June or July 1996 (he he he, I keep pushing the date off-- again and again and again). Added: 1/1/96; Last verified: 5/18/96
